Our Tasmania Holiday Savers is a full colour gloss publication targetting visitors to Tasmania who arrive aboard the Spirit of Tasmania. It features special offers and deals that are aimed at the tourist market.
Our Tasmania Holiday Savers is distributed free of charge to all vehicles displaying interstate number plates as they leave the Spirit of Tasmania ferry in Devonport. Our Tasmania will be distributed from October 2016 to April 2017, covering the major tourist season in Tasmania.
Our Tasmania Holiday Savers includes a QR code for mobile phone and tablet users to download the Our Tasmania web app to their mobile devices. All Our Tasmania Holiday Savers advertisers are featured on the website and the web app.
The app also gives direct access to the Tasmanian section of the Australia For Everyone website, placing the most comprehensive Tasmanian Travel Guide on the internet at their disposal during their stay in Tasmania. It gives spoken and visual GPS directions to all places of interest across Tasmania, including all businesses featured in Our Tasmania Holiday Savers Guide.
The Our Tasmania web app also includes a "Find Me" GPS menu - finds nearby public toilets, ATMs, pharmacies, service stations, etc. and gives access to news, weather, sports results, what's on locally and more - all on its home screen.
Whether visitors prefer to use the traditional printed brochure, or to go online for their travel and visitor information, Our Tasmania Holiday Savers has them covered.
Why we target 'Spirit' passengers
Visitors arriving on the Spirits of Tasmania stay an average of 17 nights which is more than double the average stay of airline arrivals.
'Spirit' passengers are more likely to travel in pairs or family units.
They are less likely to have an itinerary and tend to free wheel more than shorter stay visitors.
They are more likely to respond to offers or specials.
Because the visitor has a limited stay in our state, Holiday Savers are acted upon in a short time frame.
Distribution
Our Tasmania Holiday Savers will be distributed from October 2016 until April 2017, a period covering the Tourist season in our State. 30,000 will be printed and distributed during this period.
Our Tasmania Holiday Savers is also online - digitally reproduced as a website and as a web app. The app is downloadable free from our website or by scanning a QR Code printed in the publication.
